I've finally finished a magazine story that's been on my desk for months: C.J. Chivers' piece for Esquire mag about the Chechen terrorists' siege in 2004 of a school in Beslan, Russia.
Chivers is a former Marine and a phenomenal reporter; he's a Moscow correspondent for the NYT and is married to Suzanne Keating, a Brown grad.
His story, called "The School" is quite gruesome, but very powerful. It won all sorts of awards. Worth printing out and reading over time.
